Federal Reserve Sees Economic Improvement and Some Jobs
Late year reports from the 12 different regions of the Federal Reserve saw improvement in consumer spending and manufacturing according to a report released today. This is the best report since the recession began as 8 regions reported an increase in economic activity. Can this recovery continue after the First Home Buyer Tax Credit expires next April, more than likely it can.
Jobs Improvement
The Fed plans to keep rates were they are as inflation, even in recent reporting, has not increased. And maybe the best news of all is job improvements in the Boston area and the service sector in St. Louis. Even with the two regions of job growth, the board doesn’t expect the unemployment rate (10.2%) to move downward until the middle of 2010.
S&P 500 Proshares
I still feel the best way to play the economic recovery is purchase Ultra S&P 500 Proshares ETF (SSO). There are other ETFs that you could also add to a portfolio but I tend to the use the double return S & P 500. It has fluctuated between $37 and $38 a share for the past month but should run if it breaks above $38.

Re: Federal Reserve Sees Economic Improvement and Some Jobs
If the expectation of the Fed regarding the improvement in the financial position worldwide and there are adequate job availability, most of our problems will resolve soon. Overall, various measures are taken up by the governments of different countries to support economic growth and expansion. Rest of the picture depends on the pending data releases of November.

The jobs number today was really good and the SSO broke above the $38 level you mentioned. Hopefully a new leg of the rally has begun.

Re: Federal Reserve Sees Economic Improvement and Some Jobs
This is good news to see. Earlier in the year, people were acting like the world was coming to an end and we saw a huge surge in life insurance policies. Big names like Goldman and Pimco still have overseas bias in '10. Thanks,
TM

I didn't realize that life insurance policies have risen. Does seem to be a natural correlation.

The Federal Reserve doesn't specify the use of technology with the new jobs.

The federal should create job opportunities in all parts of life including IT , science, Commerce etc. Only then goals can be achieved.

Those economic improvements are minimal. We need a lot of work.

The shadow of the economic crisis has not yet dispersed, work is not very easy to find, and wages are very low

Re: Federal Reserve Sees Economic Improvement and Some Jobs
Jobs are still few and far between, even as the economy starts to accelerate. I gues we will will have to look to the job sites tosee a surge of job postings.
