A Guide to Day Trading

A Guide to Day Trading For decades people have been fascinated with the stock marketw and intrigued by the practice of trading. In years past, taking part in the stock market was a treat for professionals only. When individuals wanted to capitalize on their small fortunes through investing, they would hire a professional who would get a cut of their profits. While this is still a common way to go about trading, technology has advanced enough to make trading accessible to anyone who wants to earn more money. Day trading is not the same as traditional trading. While both can now easily be done online, in order to learn how to be a day trader, you’ve got to invest some time and energy into really understanding the market. Day trading involves buying and selling securities within the same day. That sounds pretty simple, right? Essentially, knowing how to be a day trader is similar to knowing how to buy and sell stock. The idea is to try to buy low and sell high. In day trading, this is just done in a very compressed amount of time. When you look at profits of individual day trades, you might wonder why anyone would want to engage in such a task. The reason it is worth it is because of the amount of the combined trades each day is significant. Typically, day traders make around 25 trades each day. Here’s what you need to remember: day trading is a task that requires constant attention throughout the day. Day traders rarely hold stock overnight, due to the instant changes a stock can go through. Throughout the day, day traders must be tuned into the latest stock news. They must know how to read stock charts and how to respond to changes immediately. Mere seconds can severely impact one’s profits for that day. Clearly day trading is risky. Does that mean it’s not worth it? Not at all. Day trading, when you really have learned how to be a day trader, can pay huge rewards. If you don’t feel quite confident enough to jump into day trading right away, that’s ok. There are other options that can fall between traditional long-term trading and day trading. To make money in the stock market, you don’t have to go to one extreme or the other. A good idea is to learn the ropes to the best of your abilities. Learn how to read stock charts; learn the language of trading. This is something that can be accomplished through an online course in the comfort of your own home. To make money without waiting years, you can look into Position trading, which is holding a stake in a stock or commodity for several weeks or even months. Another way to make your money grow is with Swing trading. Swing trading is holding a stake in a stock or commodity only for several days. Investing is an important aspect of your financial picture. There are several options available; which means that everyone can find a form of trading that works for their individual needs. © 2010 FastSwings.com

Re: A Guide to Day Trading
As far as i know the day trading is considered a risky trading style, and regulations require brokerage firms to ask whether the clients understand the risks of day trading and whether they have prior trading experience before entering the market.

Re: A Guide to Day Trading
Day trading is the buying and selling of stocks during the trading day by punters on their own account. The aim is to make a profit on the day and have no open positions at the close of the trading session. Day trading became a fad during the 1990s boom as people gave up their regular jobs to play the market full-time. The bursting of the hi-tech bubble was a rude awakening.

Re: A Guide to Day Trading
Hi,
I like reading your posts, regarding this posts I have a query that day-trading is really contained with more risks and difficulty as compared to other trading or this is just because it is ended at he end of the session on the same day increases its risk emergence. Suggest any formula to get in to the day trading and come up with successful trading.

Re: A Guide to Day Trading
Excellent Advice. I was a day trader before the bubble. No matter what I did I made money. Then I lost it all when the bubble burst. Now I am a little bit afraid to try it again. Luckily, I know more now and I have a lot of great resources like this blog.

Re: A Guide to Day Trading
Good information. It's not easy. I tried it a few years ago and made a little bit. But I was lucky because the market in general was up and virtually anything you bought went up.
But I never was a chart reader. And that was definitely a mistake.

Re: A Guide to Day Trading
yeah. i like to say day trading is something that i do only when i feel a burning need to run my account balance down :)
seriously, i truly admire those that can make a consistent profit doing this. i don't have the nerve, or the patience, or the knowledge, or the skill, or something that it takes to churn through 25 trades a day and have success....in fact 'overtrading' is one of the key indicators that i'm getting ready to lose money in my everyday trading activities.

offshore asset protection
i'm actually out looking for a place that will allow me to do day trading, online, in an offshore account....especially one that will allow u.s. citizens as account holders.
the solutions i've found will claim they can open accounts for offshore companies but then at the 11th hour require the company to disclose the beneficial owners of the company which expose the owner to asset protection issues.
anyways, if you find something out there, blog about it, or offer it as a service, cuz there seems to be a lot of demand for this sorta thing without too many good solutions.
thanks!

I was making an incredible amount of money when the banks were in free fall. Playing the short side of some of the worst offenders. But day trading is pretty volatile so I do longer term trades mostly now.
