Dave Loeb Sells Yahoo Stock

One of the most heavily traded stocks over the past few years has been Yahoo Inc., while the company seemed to be struggling to compete with Google and other companies, it has gone through a considerable resurgence the past few years under a new CEO. One of the most significant investors in Yahoo has been the Third Point hedge fund, which has acquired nearly 60 million shares under the leadership of Dave Loeb. The hedge fund started acquiring shares a few years ago when they were trading around $12 per share. Since then the share price has skyrocketed to over $29, a 125% return over the past three years.

Dell Slams Carl Icahn For Being Inconsistent

Carl Icahn and Southeastern Asset Management have apparently been slammed by a Dell special committee. He is attempting to propose his own deal for going private with the company, and it is clearly marked as incredibly inconsistent and impossible to implement based on his own actions.

Michael Dell was originally slated to buy out the company for around 24.4 billion dollars. There have been several disputes over this deal, and Carl Icahn has done his best to grab the company himself.

Microsoft Windows Stores And Best Buy Partnership

Microsoft and Best Buy have announced a partnership that will create a new concept, Microsoft Stores where products such as PC's, tablets, Xbox, and phones will be offered. Microsoft is planning to open 500 of these new stores in the US and in Canada they will open 100 stores.

Apple Suffers Blow In Patent Fight

In an ongoing patent battle, Samsung has recently scored a big victory with the International Trade Commission finding that the iPad 2 and iPhone 4 violated the Samsung patent on certain wireless transmission technology.  As a result, the ITC has ruled that these models and some older Apple devices should be banned from import to the United States.
